Marius Lindvik took to social media to address the scandal that exploded around the Norwegians at the World Championships in Trondheim. The jumper stated on Instagram that he "had no idea anyone was tampering with his suit." "This was a nightmare," the 26-year-old aspiring world vice-champion wrote.

Last weekend, a major scandal erupted in the world of ski jumping. A video surfaced from the World Championships in Trondheim showing Norwegian athletes manipulating their suits. They exchanged homologation chips and sewed strings to stiffen the material.

As the attempted cheating by the Norwegians was revealed, two athletes were disqualified: Marius Lindvik, who placed 2nd on the large hill, and Johann Andre Forfang, who was 5th. Lindvik has now spoken out about the situation on social media.

"It was a nightmare. I am devastated and sad. I didn’t know that there was manipulation with this suit, and I would never have worn it if I had known. It’s hard to express what I feel right now," Lindvik wrote on Instagram.

Johann Andre Forfang also weighed in on the cheating scandal involving the Norwegian team. In his Instagram post, he stated that he also had no idea anyone was tampering with his suit. "I have always trusted the members of the staff who worked hard to make our equipment competitive. This time, the boundaries were crossed," he said on Instagram.

This scandal follows Jan-Erik Aalbu, head of ski jumping in the Norwegian Ski Association (NSF), confirming that his coaching staff was guilty of cheating. He took responsibility for the incident.
