Adam Małysz Speaks Out on Thomas Thurnbichler's Situation
In a recent conversation with Interia Sport, Adam Małysz expressed his frustration with the current state of Polish ski jumping. He stated, "We are still having discussions and conversations because the jumpers and staff have everything they need, yet the results are not as expected. This is not the time for speculation about changes in coaching."
Following the last competition in Wisła, where Polish jumpers performed below expectations, Małysz made it clear that changes would not be made promptly. "We’ve been communicating with Thomas Thurnbichler and Alexander Stoeckl. We all recognize that the technique has changed, and it is always harder for the older athletes to adapt to new equipment that favors those who attack and push forward," he added.
Małysz acknowledged that they had hoped for two Polish jumpers in the top ten during the Wisła competition, noting that improvement is needed despite the progress shown compared to earlier competitions. He underlined that their main objective for the season remains the World Championships in Trondheim, where assessments of performance would take place afterward.
Upcoming Competitions
This weekend, the Polish team will head to Titisee-Neustadt for the next competition, with a squad including Paweł Wąsek, Aleksander Zniszczoł, Dawid Kubacki, Jakub Wolny, and Kamil Stoch reminding fans to stay hopeful for better performances.
