Let’s remind that Thomas Thurnbichler ceased to be the coach of the Polish ski jumping team after the 2024/25 season. The new coach is Maciej Maciusiak, Thurnbichler's former assistant.

As communicated by the Polish Ski Federation (PZN), the decision to change the head coach was made before the World Cup events in Planica. Both Thurnbichler and the jumpers were informed about this earlier. Thus, the Austrian ended his work with the first team after three years. However, it turns out he might lead the juniors.

Kwiatkowski reveals the background of conversations with Małysz

The current coach of Polish juniors, Daniel Kwiatkowski, reveals that Małysz assured him of a position even if Thurnbichler leads the juniors.

— I have such a guarantee from the federation, from Adam Małysz and the General Secretary Tomasz Grzywacz, that I have a place in the system. That it will be found somewhere. It looks a little strange at the moment, but it is what it is. We will wait for Thomas's decision and see what happens next. Right now I can't say anything more — says the coach in a conversation with Sport.pl.

Kwiatkowski is ready for cooperation

— For now, I am patiently waiting — he adds. Kwiatkowski also states that he is ready to collaborate with Thurnbichler.

— We are always able to work together. And generally, we are one team, we all know each other well, so there’s no problem. I worked with Thomas for three years, and we had no conflicts. It has always been great to work with him — Kwiatkowski reveals.

However, according to information from Sport.pl, all signs indicate that Thurnbichler will say goodbye to Poland and head to Germany.
