Activity in Lillehammer Since Morning! Polish Skier Could Not Perform Worse

In Lillehammer, the new season of the Ski Jumping World Cup has started on Friday. The initial women's training sessions have provided little reason for optimism for Polish athletes. Pola Bełtowska and Natalia Słowik particularly had disappointing performances.
In the training series, none of the Polish jumpers could compete with the leaders. Anna Twardosz was the best among them, finishing 36th with a jump of 103.5 meters, while Nicole Konderla placed 41st with a distance of 107 meters.
Much worse were the performances of the two remaining Polish female jumpers. Słowik, jumping 93 meters, found herself in 59th place with just a 0.1 point score, while Bełtowska, landing at 92 meters, received a zero score.
The best performer was Nika Prevc from Slovenia with a jump of 132.5 meters, followed closely by Jacqueline Seifriedsberger from Austria and Eirin Maria Kvandal from Norway. They set a high standard ahead of the upcoming competitions.
It's important to note that in the training sessions, no points are awarded for style, which is why the jumpers have weak point scores following their short jumps. The FIS classifies the poorest performers equally, which is what happened with Bełtowska and five other jumpers in this case.
For the first time, the World Cup competitions will begin with a mixed team event. This is a significant change introduced by the FIS. The Polish team is likely to include Anna Twardosz and Nicole Konderla among the women, while Dawid Kubacki and Paweł Wąsek are expected to represent the men. Additionally, Kamil Stoch, Aleksander Zniszczoł, and Maciej Kot also made the trip to Norway. The mixed competition starts at 16:15.
