Absurd in Polish Ski Jumping: "It's a scandal"

The FIS World Cup in Wisła turned out to be a great success for its organizers, as the ski jump was excellently prepared for competition. The weather also cooperated with snowfall on Friday. However, as revealed by Sebastian Parfjanowicz from Przegląd Sportowy Onet, the Polish national team and youth groups could not utilize the Adam Małysz facility due to a three-day elevator repair.

Sebastian Szczęsny from Eurosport expressed his disbelief about this situation, stating, "It's a scandal."

Although the ski jump prepared for the competition in Wisła was exceptional and helped support successful events during the weekend, once the competitions concluded, the facility was immediately closed to ski jumpers. The Polish representatives cannot train on the only properly prepared facility due to the elevator renovations occurring when fresh snow had fallen.

This situation highlights a persistent problem in Polish sports, with commentators noting that while the country may have top coaches, they lack suitable venues for training. Across other nations, such as Finland, snow removal and jump preparation happens promptly, allowing consistent athlete training, contrasting deeply with the current Polish conditions, which include facility closures and delays.

The ski jumpers are expected to compete next weekend in Titisee-Neustadt, Germany, with the duo contest starting on Friday, December 13, at 15:45, followed by individual competitions on Saturday and Sunday at 16:00 each day. Text updates of the competition will be available on the Przegląd Sportowy Onet website.
