U.S. Ski and Snowboard announced on Tuesday the roster for the 2025 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, which will be held at the Granåsen Ski Center in Trondheim, Norway, from February 27 to March 9. The 10-member team is a mix of seasoned competitors and rising stars. Six of the athletes come from Steamboat Springs, underpinning the town’s strong Nordic combined program.

On the women’s side, four of the five team members hail from Steamboat Springs, including Alexa Brabec—who recorded a World Cup personal-best fourth place at the Seefeld Triple in Austria and is ranked 11th globally—and Annika Malacinski, currently ranked 15th. Also representing the women are Steamboat’s Haley Brabec and Ella Wilson, along with Kai McKinnon out of Lake Placid, New York, who recently competed at the Nordic Combined Junior World Championships.

The men’s roster features Steamboat’s own Niklas Malacinski and Erik Lynch, who have shown promise with World Cup and Continental Cup performances, respectively, alongside teammates Ben Loomis, Stephen Schumann, and Carter Brubaker.

Anders Johnson, U.S. Ski & Snowboard’s Sport Director for Ski Jumping & Nordic Combined, stated that the team exemplifies the hard work and resilience of American Nordic combined athletes. He expressed confidence that the roster, composed of both returning competitors and new talent, would meet the challenges on the world’s biggest stage for the sport.
