Two talented athletes from Alaska have earned their spots on the U.S. Nordic Combined Ski Team for the 2024-25 season.

Carter Brubaker, a 20-year-old from Anchorage, has been named to the C Team. A proud graduate of Service High School, Brubaker honed his skills alongside coach Zak Hammill with TeamAK Ski Jumping and Jan Buron, head coach of the Alaska Winter Stars. His impressive track record includes participation in the USA’s World Junior Championships in both 2021 and 2023, culminating in a 27th place finish at the 2023 Whistler Junior World Championships.

Skyler Amy, also from Anchorage and a fellow Service High alum, joins the Development Team at just 18 years old. Amy has represented TeamAK Ski Jumping and the Alaska Winter Stars and has been part of the Junior World Championships teams in 2023 and 2024.

“This team has great potential for the year ahead,” expressed Jill Brabec, president of Nordic Combined USA, in a recent statement. “We are committed to funding these athletes so that they can pursue their sport at the highest level and represent the U.S. on the international stage.”

Currently, both athletes are training in Norway, gearing up for the World Cup season, which is set to begin in Ruka, Finland, on November 28. The season will stretch into 2025, culminating with the final women’s event in Oslo, Norway, from March 14-16, and the men’s events taking place in Lahti, Finland, from March 21-23.
