Ida Marie Hagen (24) and Gyda Westvold Hansen (22) were expected to face off in a duel for the NM gold medal, and Hagen showcased her class.
Starting 12 seconds behind Hansen, Hagen quickly closed the gap and completed her 5-kilometer race with a lead of more than 11 seconds by midway through the event held in Beitostølen.
Marte Leinan Lund claimed the bronze medal.
Double world champion Hansen had to accept that Hagen was the stronger competitor once again, as the 24-year-old from Haslum had taken the top position in Norwegian Combined last season, having won the overall World Cup.
The jumping event was held in February, but the NM gold was finally awarded on Saturday at Beitostølen.
