The Provisional Competition Round (PCR) for the Men’s Viessmann FIS Nordic Combined World Cup was held today on the Langenwaldschanze HS100 in Schonach. A total of 59 athletes representing 13 nations participated, each completing one training jump before competing in the PCR.

The highlight of the day came from Austria’s Thomas Rettenegger, who delivered the longest jump at 104 meters. His impressive performance earned him 133 points and secured victory in the PCR.

Germany’s Julian Schmid claimed second place with a solid jump of 101 meters, earning 131.7 points. Fellow Austrian Martin Fritz also jumped 101 meters, finishing third with 128.4 points.

Notably, World Cup leader Jarl Magnus Riiber matched Rettenegger’s distance with a jump of 104 meters but was unfortunately disqualified due to an irregular suit.

The stage is now set for the Men’s Individual Gundersen competition, which kicks off tomorrow at 9:30 CET.
