FIS | Riiber dominates PCR in Lillehammer
The Men’s Viessmann FIS Nordic Combined World Cup in Lillehammer (NOR) kicked off in true winter fashion this morning, as 59 athletes from 13 nations competed in the Provisional Competition Round (PCR) on the Lysgårdsbakken HS98.
Local hero Jarl Magnus Riiber delivered the best performance of the day, flying 98.5 meters to secure 126.4 points and claim victory in the PCR. The Norwegian’s commanding jump sets him up as a strong contender for the rest of the weekend despite ongoing health issues.
Austria made a strong impression, with Thomas Rettenegger taking second place with a 95.5-meter jump, earning 123.8 points. His compatriot Franz-Josef Rehrl followed closely, landing third with a 96-meter effort that garnered 123.4 points.
The men’s first competition of the Lillehammer weekend continues tomorrow with the Individual Gundersen Ski Jumping round, starting at 10:20 CET.
