In a thrilling display of skill and competition, Norwegian athletes Jarl Magnus Riiber and Ida Marie Hagen emerged victorious at the Nordic Combined World Cup event in Otepää, Estonia, held on Sunday. French competitor Léna Brocard showcased her talent, finishing in eighth place after a strong performance; she had initially landed in ninth after the jump but moved up during the ski section, despite finishing well behind the leaders.
The women’s race proved to be a nail-biter, with Hagen narrowly defeating Mari Leinan Lund in a thrilling sprint, marking her second victory of the weekend. Completing an all-Norwegian podium was Gyda Westvold Hansen, who also delivered an impressive performance.
On the men's side, World Cup leader Jarl Magnus Riiber further asserted his dominance by clinching his tenth consecutive victory in the combined event. By executing a powerful jump, Riiber established a solid lead that he maintained throughout the skiing portion. Stefan Rettenegger finished in second place while David Mach claimed third. Among the French competitors, Mattéo Baud was the top finisher, crossing the line in 22nd position.
With this victory, Riiber is well on his way to securing another Crystal Globe, leading the overall standings by a significant points margin with just four races left in the season.
