Ida Marie Hagen emerged victorious in a groundbreaking moment for women’s Nordic skiing, winning the first-ever FIS large hill competition held at the FIS Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix in Oberstdorf, Germany.

During the Individual Compact Ski Jumping segment, Svenja Würth set the pace with a jump of 120.5 meters, scoring 110.1 points, at the Schattenbergschanze HS137, placing her in the lead. This performance allowed her to start first in the 5 km Compact race that followed in the evening.

Austrian skier Lisa Hirner, who also jumped 120.5 meters but with a score of 109.8 points, secured the second position. She began the race just 6 seconds after Würth, owing to predetermined starting intervals.

Hirner’s teammate, Annalena Slamik, distinguished herself by achieving the longest jump of the day at 125 meters, earning 106.2 points and ultimately placing third, trailing the leader by 12 seconds.

Hagen, renowned for her cross-country prowess, showcased her skills on roller skis by swiftly closing the gap to Würth, reducing it to 4.4 seconds by the 1.4 km mark. By the end of the second lap, she had overtaken the German skier and extended her lead to 15.8 seconds at the 3 km point.

Meanwhile, Nathalie Armbruster, who was in 10th place after the jumping phase, executed a remarkable comeback. She managed to bridge the gap to a pack featuring Würth, Ema Volavsek, Jenny Nowak, and Minja Korhonen. Armbruster and Nowak partnered effectively, pulling away from the group around the 4.1 km mark and maintaining their positions until the finish line.

As Hagen celebrated her victory amidst cheering crowds, Armbruster finished in second place, 10.8 seconds behind, while Nowak secured third, finishing 17.8 seconds off the pace.

With this win, Hagen ascends to the top of the Overall ranking.
