Nordic Combined: Westvold Hansen Wins First Event in Lillehammer, Brocard 10th
Gyda Westvold Hansen dominated the opening event of the women’s Nordic Combined World Cup in Lillehammer, Norway. The reigning world champion secured victory with a strong performance in both segments of the competition. Starting the cross-country ski race with a 12-second lead after the ski jumping segment, the 20-year-old Norwegian increased her margin, finishing well ahead of Italy's Annika Sieff and Germany's Nathalie Armbruster.
Léna Brocard of France also had a noteworthy outing, starting in 13th place following the ski jump. Despite her initial position, the three-time French champion fought her way through the race and finished in 10th place, showcasing her competitive spirit.
