Johannes Lamparter Withdraws from Summer Grand Prix Due to Knee Injury
Originally published in Krone.at on August 22, 2024
Johannes Lamparter, a leading figure in Nordic Combined, has regrettably announced that he will be sidelined from the upcoming Summer Grand Prix due to ongoing issues with his knee. Currently ranked third overall in the 2023/24 World Cup standings, Lamparter has opted to withdraw from this weekend’s events in Tschagguns, which feature both mixed and individual competitions on the normal hill.
Moreover, he will also miss the individual events on the large hill set for next Wednesday in Oberstdorf, and further competitions slated for Chaux Neuve, France, the following weekend. His absence is particularly significant considering that 18 athletes from the Austrian Ski Federation are set to take part in these competitions. Lamparter's participation would have surely added considerable excitement to the events.
