German Nordic combined skier Nathalie Armbruster achieved her third podium finish this winter at the World Cup event in Seefeld. Armbruster confirmed her strong performance in the cross-country mass start by finishing third with a 19.5-second deficit as she headed into the jumping round.
On the ski jump, she flew to a distance of 97.0 meters, scoring 87.30 points – a result that placed her behind the two Norwegian athletes Ida Marie Hagen, who scored 92.80 points, and Gyda Westvold Hansen, who reached 88.50 points. “Finishing third here is really, really cool,” the 19-year-old exclaimed in an interview with ARD.
In the overall field of German competitors, only Maria Gerboth managed to reach the top ten, garnering 74.0 points. Jenny Nowak (13th, 64.5 points), Ronja Loh (16th, 59.1 points), Cindy Haasch (18th, 57.4 points) and Svenja Würth (19th, 51.3 points) all finished within the top 20.
This event also marked a successful kick-off for the debut of the Seefeld Triple. Armbruster highlighted the significance of the event as a step toward equality in the sport. “It’s simply a step in the right direction, a step toward equal opportunities,” she said, adding that she hopes this will eventually pave her way to Olympic participation.
Hagen Clinches Her Seventh Season Victory
Norwegian Ida Marie Hagen, despite recording a jump of only 93 meters, maintained enough of an advantage from the cross-country course to secure her seventh World Cup win this season. She emerged victorious ahead of her teammate Gyda Westvold Hansen, who notched the longest jump of the day at 101.5 meters.
Other German Competitors Miss Out on the Top Ten
Among the other German starters, only Maria Gerboth reached the top ten. Meanwhile, Jenny Nowak, Ronja Loh, Cindy Haasch, and Svenja Würth each finished in the top 20.
Successful Start at the Seefeld Triple Premiere
Overall, it was a successful debut for the Seefeld Triple event, particularly for Armbruster. Reflecting on her result, she stated, “It’s simply a step in the right direction, a step toward equality,” and expressed her hope for future Olympic success.
