After World Cup Triumph: Armbruster Finishes Fourth at Finale
The recently crowned World Cup overall winner, Nathalie Armbruster, narrowly missed the podium in Oslo. In an eventful last race of the season, she finished fourth despite the excitement of securing the overall victory the previous day.
On the final race day held in Oslo, Norwegian world champion Gyda Westvold Hansen claimed victory ahead of compatriot Ida Marie Hagen, consolidating their dominance in the season. Hansen had previously won the World Cups in 2022 and 2023, while Hagen was the victor in 2024. A close third was Japan's Haruka Kasai, just ahead of Armbruster.
In a surprising turn, the leading Norwegian Ingrid Laate withdrew from the cross-country section of the race despite sustaining no injuries, indicating a lack of competitiveness in that portion.
Armbruster's impressive season and her unexpected fourth place highlight both the intense competition in the Nordic combined and the challenges faced in the final leg of the series.
