Lillehammer | Jarl Magnus Riiber has received answers regarding his recent health challenges—he has been diagnosed with inflammation in his stomach. "We confirmed this after the examinations conducted. Now we can begin to address it," Riiber told NRK.

Team doctor Anders Heen provided an update on Riiber's health issues with his permission. "Jarl has an inflammatory reaction in his stomach and has been placed on an anti-inflammatory course. We expect and hope for gradual improvement leading up to the new year, and we aim for this to be a one-time episode," he stated.

The treatment is set to last eight weeks, but Riiber still intends to participate in this weekend's World Cup race in Lillehammer, contingent on how his body responds.

In an interview with NRK on November 12, Riiber revealed he had been struggling with blood in his stool without understanding the cause. He noted that many amateur doctors had offered their advice during that time, but now he has received answers from medical professionals.

"I had hoped it was something that would pass and heal itself, but that has certainly not been the case. Competing has only made it worse," he said.

Treatment has commenced, but Heen emphasizes that recovery will take time. "In the initial period, it may occur that daily performance varies more than usual, but we believe that his condition won’t affect his performance as we approach the World Championship. Now Jarl needs peace and light training to regain energy for the weekend," the team doctor explained.
