Laurent Muhlethaler finished third, marking the only French podium of the winter in the Nordic combined during the last race of the season held at Lahti, Finland. This achievement is his second career podium. Prior to this, he had a fifth-place finish in Oslo.
As the sole representative of France on the podium, Muhlethaler's performance brought some honor to the French team, which had yet to earn a medal over the winter season. His past successes include a top three finish in a team event and another individual podium in Schonach, Germany, back in February 2023.
Johannes Lamparter won the race, solidifying his own excellent performance while Vinzenz Geiger finished atop the overall World Cup rankings. Muhlethaler's efforts exemplify the center's tenacity to maintain competitive results in the challenging world of Nordic combined skiing.
The event marked a significant achievement as it not only showcased Muhlethaler's skills but also offered a glimpse into the potential for French athletes in future competitions.
