Nathalie Armbruster, the German Nordic combined athlete, showcased an outstanding performance in Lillehammer, securing her first podium finish of the season. Starting in ninth place after the jump, the 18-year-old Armbruster steadily climbed through the ranks and made a decisive move just before crossing the finish line. Armbruster ended the 5-kilometer race 51.1 seconds behind the winner, Ida Marie Hagen, and expressed her feelings of exhilaration and fulfillment despite managing the challenges of her final school year.

Hagen had another solitary victory, overtaking jumping leader Maria Gerboth early in the race and maintaining a significant speed advantage. Just like in her previous performances, Hagen demonstrated dominance similar to that of Jarl Magnus Riiber among male competitors.

The race quickly evolved into a competition for the remaining podium spots as other German athletes fell behind after a promising jumping start. Only Armbruster managed to keep pace with her chasing group, breaking away with Ema Volavsek from Slovenia, and eventually finishing second.

In a gripping finish, reigning world champion Gyda Westvold Hansen battled back from a slow start to claim third, just edging out Volavsek, who had to relinquish her podium position. The jumping winner Gerboth struggled to maintain her position and ultimately finished in twelfth place, 1:38.3 minutes behind the winner.

Overall, the race highlighted Armbruster's determination and skill as she continues to make her mark in the Nordic combined discipline, demonstrating significant promise for the season ahead.
