Originally published in L'Équipe on December 02, 2023
In a remarkable display of skill and determination, Jarl Magnus Riiber asserted his dominance in the Nordic combined World Cup by clinching victory in Lillehammer, Norway. This triumph marks his third win out of four competitions this season, a testament to his extraordinary performance.
Having already established a strong lead following the ski jump segment, Riiber further widened his margin during the 10 km cross-country race, finishing well ahead of fellow Norwegians Jens Oftebro and Joergen Graabak.
In the women’s event, Norway swept the podium, with Gyda Westvold Hansen taking home the gold medal. However, the competition was marred by controversy when French athlete Léna Brocard was disqualified for being 200 grams underweight, which affected her eligibility according to the sport's regulations.
