In the large hill event of Nordic combined, Jarl Magnus Riiber took the lead in the competition after the jump. The Norwegian, who tested positive for Covid-19 earlier in the Olympics, demonstrated his top form by leading the field with a jump of 142 meters (139.8 points). He will start the 10 kilometers cross-country skiing event with a 44-second advantage over Estonian Kristjan Ilves (140m; 128.7 pts) and Japanese Ryota Yamamoto (140m; 128.7 pts).

Finishing strongly, the German Vinzenz Geiger, an Olympic champion in the small hill event, will start skiing 2 minutes and 15 seconds behind in 14th position after his jump.

Among the French competitors, Matteo Baud is positioned as the highest finisher after jumping 127.5 meters for a score of 103.7 points, placing him 16th and trailing the leader Riiber by 2 minutes and 24 seconds.
