In a spectacular display of skill, Norwegian athletes shone brightly at the World Cup event held in Schonach, Germany. On Saturday, Jarl Magnus Riiber, teaming up with Mari Leinan Lund, secured a decisive victory. The following day, Riiber continued his winning streak while Ida Marie Hagen triumphed in the women's competition.
Jarl Magnus Riiber, a dominant force in Nordic combined with an impressive record of eight world championship titles and four overall World Cup victories, celebrated his eighth win of this winter season. In the cross-country skiing portion of the event, he finished 33.2 seconds ahead of fellow Norwegian Joergen Graabak and outpaced Austrian skier Stefan Rettenegger by 53.5 seconds. French contender Laurent Muhlethaler lagged behind in 15th place, crossing the line 2 minutes and 12.6 seconds later.
After finishing second on Saturday, Ida Marie Hagen made an impressive comeback on Sunday, defeating Mari Leinan Lund by a remarkable 37.8 seconds and leaving another Norwegian, Gyda Westvold Hansen, trailing by 1 minute and 3.1 seconds in the cross-country skiing segment. Notably, French athlete Léna Brocard delivered an outstanding performance, narrowly missing the podium in fourth place, marking her best World Cup result to date.
