Vinzenz Geiger emerged as the winner of the Seefeld Triple in a dramatic Nordic combined race held in Tirol. The Olympic champion from Oberstdorf managed to edge out Norway’s record world champion, Jarl-Magnus Riiber, in a nail-biting target sprint. Geiger’s impressive performance marked his fourth win of the season and the 14th of his career.

Geiger’s triumph is particularly noteworthy as he became the first German to win the Seefeld Triple since Eric Frenzel, who held the highlight of a World Cup season from 2014 to 2017. Finishing ahead of Riiber, and with Jens Luraas Oftebro placing third, the event showcased top-level international competition.

Adding to the excitement, nearly one hour after Nathalie Armbruster’s victory in the same location, Geiger completed a double win for the Germans. Reflecting on his success during an ARD interview, Geiger emphasized the importance of staying calm and focused, a mindset that led him to a clear goal – victory.

In the race, title defender Riiber started strong after the ski jump phase and led into the cross-country part, which was extended to 12.5 km instead of the usual 10 km. However, he was eventually caught by four competitors during the lap, setting the stage for a tense final sprint down the hill. In the end, Geiger's late surge clinched the win, while Riiber, who was planning to retire at the end of the season, missed out on his fourth Triple triumph.
