Last week, the Czech and German men's national teams concluded a successful joint training camp in Liberec, Czech Republic.
This year, the Czech Ski Association initiated a collaboration with the German Ski Association under the “Nations Supporting Nations” program, which has already shown promising results for both athletes and coaches alike.
The inaugural training camp took place in Hinterzarten, located in Germany’s Black Forest, at the end of June, as noted by Tomas Slavik, the Sports Director for Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping at the Czech Ski Association.
Another camp is set for the fall, designed to reinforce the foundation established during this collaboration, ahead of the World Cup season.
"The close cooperation with the German team, which began this year, is invaluable for our athletes and coaches. We are thrilled with the collaboration and believe it’s a significant step forward for Nordic Combined as a whole," said Tomas Slavik.
During the camp in Liberec, the athletes practiced on the Ještěd HS 100 and HS 134 ski jumps, shared training sessions on roller skis, and engaged in joint strength training exercises. This setting allowed coaches from both nations to exchange valuable insights on training methods and optimization strategies.
This partnership represents a significant advancement in the growth of Nordic Combined, showcasing the strong spirit of solidarity and the collective commitment of all nations to foster a bright future for the sport.
