Armbruster After World Championships Training: 'Not My Favorite Hill'

Following her World Championships training session in Trondheim, Nordic combined competitor Nathalie Armbruster admitted that she is not completely comfortable with the current hill, describing it as "not my favorite hill." In her three training jumps, she finished 15th, 10th, and 9th, and noted that she has not yet fully warmed up to the hill.
Armbruster explained that the feeling on the hill is subjective and mentioned that she expects to adapt from jump to jump. In Norway, the upcoming World Championships decision is set to feature a mass start round at 15:00 followed by the jumping portion at 17:00, which will be broadcast on Eurosport and zdf.de. She commented that she prefers the Gundersen or Compact formats, as the mass start tends to favor the stronger jumpers.
On Sunday, after the normal hill event, the decision will revert to the traditional Gundersen format, giving the combined athletes two individual competitions at the Championships for the first time. Armbruster sees this as a positive development and expressed a wish to also have the opportunity to compete on the large hill in the future.
