The Seefeld Triple took place for the 12th time, and for the first time, women competed at the climax of the World Cup season in Nordic combined.

Nathalie Armbruster, representing DSV and making her debut in the event, secured a podium finish. The 19‐year‐old vice world champion finished third in Tirol behind series winner Ida Marie Hagen and double world champion Gyda Westvold Hansen, both from Norway. This result emphasizes her ambitions to win medals at the upcoming World Championships in Trondheim, scheduled from February 26 to March 9.

Armbruster, speaking to ARD, said: "That is megacool, and it’s my first legendary Triple. I’m absolutely thrilled. This is a step towards equality and hopefully will lead to an Olympic opportunity someday."

Armbruster was in third place after five kilometers on the track and managed to defend her position with a jump of 97.0 meters from the Toni-Seelos-Schanze. In this mass-start format – different from the traditional Gundersen method where athletes jump first – the competitors run before jumping. Meanwhile, Hagen continued her dominant form by claiming her eighth win of the season in her eighth race.

The Seefeld Triple is a three-day event, and after today’s race, a compact race will take place on Saturday. The final decision in the battle for the Triple Trophy will be made on Sunday in a classic Gundersen-format race.
