World Championship Hope Has Fallen Ill

Swedish cross-country skiing profile Moa Ilar has become ill and will not take part in the Swedish championship this weekend. According to Expressen, Ilar struggled with a cold after the recent World Cup races in Switzerland’s Engadin and has consequently withdrawn from the event. The 27‐year‐old athlete expects to resume training next week, with plans to compete in the World Cup races on home turf in Falun in just over a week.
Additionally, it is reported that Calle Halfvarsson will also miss the Swedish championship in Borås due to back problems. Another top Swedish skier, Linn Svahn, has likewise become ill, while Maja Dahlqvist is sitting out the championship to recover from a heavy training load.
