Cross-Country Skiing: William Poromaa’s Passport Panic Ahead of World Championships – 'I Feel a Bit Ashamed'
Originally published in SVT Sport on February 08, 2025
William Poromaa is in a bit of a bind ahead of the World Championships in Trondheim. His preparation for the event has hit an unexpected snag – his passport has expired, and he now has to visit the police to secure a provisional, pink passport.
Poromaa openly admits that this is something he feels a little ashamed about. However, he stays determined, explaining that the feeling of being on top of his game is what matters most. With just three weeks until the championships, he remains focused on the competition rather than the paperwork mishap.
Before heading off to the training camp in Lavazè in Italy, where he will fine-tune his condition, Poromaa is putting his administrative issues in order so that nothing hinders his journey to international competition. His main priority remains winning and keeping his momentum high in the lead-up to the World Championships.
