VM Chief Confirms to NRK: Taking Action After Audience Flight
Originally published in NRK on March 01, 2025
The chief of the championship, Åge Skinstad, has confirmed to NRK that actions will be taken after many spectators left the Granåsen arena before the women's ski jumping events.
For two consecutive days, many attendees exited Granåsen before the evening's jumping competitions, leading to concerns about ticket sales despite full capacity. On Saturday alone, 18,000 day passes were sold, along with 4,500 for cross-country events. However, the seats for the women’s jump were not adequately filled.
Skinstad noted the long day of events might have led families to leave early, acknowledging that understanding audience capacity and engagement is crucial. He plans to work with Ticketmaster on introducing separate ticket sales for jump events to ensure better attendance.
Additionally, the ski championship aims to enhance audience experience and manage ticketing in ways that can accommodate varying audience durations throughout the long days of competition.
