In the Lillehammer World Cup, Victoria Carl impressed with her performance in the freestyle sprint, finishing fourth in the final which is her best result in this discipline to date. The victory went to Jonna Sundling from Sweden, closely followed by her compatriot Johanna Hagström in second place and Norway's Julia Myhre in third. Carl was more than 2.5 seconds shy of the podium but showed strong competitive spirit throughout the rounds, marking a notable achievement in her skiing career.

In the quarterfinals, three German athletes participated, with Carl taking the lead in her heat and overcoming a fierce sprint against Kristine Stavaas Skistad to secure her place in the semifinals. The other two German competitors, Laura Gimmler and Sofie Krehl, struggled to keep up with the fastest pace.

In the semifinals, Carl secured the second position behind Sundling, confirming her spot in the finals. Unfortunately, the male German athletes did not fare as well, as they were eliminated early on in the competition. The male race was dominated once again by Norway's Johannes Kläbo who took the win ahead of Even Northug and Italy's Federico Pellegrino.
