UAF senior Kendall Kramer capped her decorated collegiate skiing career with a national championship on Saturday.
Kramer won the 20K mass start freestyle in a time of 50 minutes, 14.2 seconds to take the top podium spot on the final day of the NCAA Skiing Championships in Hanover, New Hampshire.
Kramer’s time was 35.4 seconds faster than runner-up Erica Laven of Utah.
The win completes an impressive string of successes for Kramer, including a national title earned at the U.S. Cross Country Ski Championships in Anchorage earlier this year.
The Nanooks finished 10th as a team while UAA placed seventh. The Seawolves had three racers finish outside of the top 30 on the women’s side.
Marlie Molinaro (32nd), Marit Flora (33rd) and Beth Granstrom (35th) all competed while another UAF racer, Tabitha Williams, placed 21st.
On the men’s side for the Seawolves, Derek Dueling (12th), Peter Hinds (16th) and Corbin Carpenter (18th) finished in the top 20.
Another Alaskan had a fine day on Saturday. Montana State University junior Katey Houser, who is from Palmer, finished in sixth place.
