Truls Gisselman tops Swedish performance in Davos with a personal record: "Unreal"
Truls Gisselman broke his personal record in the individual event in Davos. His 11th place in the 20-kilometer race not only marks his best performance to date but positions him as the top Swedish competitor in the event.
– It feels a bit unreal to be placed so high, Gisselman told SVT Sport.
Previously, Gisselman had never achieved a higher placement than 16th in a World Cup race.
With other Swedish competitors like William Poromaa not finishing the race, and Jens Burman and Edvin Anger struggling, Gisselman took the opportunity to shine. His 11th place finish is a personal record.
– It feels a little unreal to be up here, he mentioned to SVT Sport.
The young athlete is looking forward to a Christmas break, but if it were up to him, it would be short, as he intends to participate in the Tour de Ski starting on December 28.
– That would be really exciting. I generally enjoy competing in consecutive races; it usually works well for me.
