Top Swedish Skiers Miss Competitions in Lahti
Several prominent Swedish athletes, including Frida Karlsson and Jonna Sundling, are set to miss the World Cup events held in Lahti this weekend.
Stefan Thomson, the national team coach, commented, "Frida Karlsson is not quite ready for another 50km following her performance in Trondheim. The focus now will be on rehabilitation and laying the groundwork for the upcoming training period."
The competitions in Lahti are scheduled for March 21-23, featuring individual events such as the sprint (Friday), sprint relay (Saturday), and the 50km race (Sunday), where Therese Johaug is expected to compete.
"As for Jonna Sundling, while her condition has improved, she has not fully returned to compete yet, aiming instead to be ready for the Swedish Championships in Kalix," Thomson added.
