Top Favorite Klæbo Wins Sprint

Johannes Høsflot Klæbo fulfilled expectations in Davos on Saturday evening.

The Norwegian skier was fastest in the prologue, quarter-final, semi-final, and final, securing his third individual sprint victory of the season. Klæbo also won the team sprint event the day before, marking his twelve straight individual wins in freestyle.

Klæbo remarked on the conditions, saying, "It’s an advantage for me when it snows a bit and the conditions get a bit heavier. At the end, I can feel I have a bit more to give, and then it was just to push hard in the last hill. I like evening races, so maybe that’s a new thing for me," during an interview after his victory.

Erik Valnes finished third, just behind French skier Lucas Chanavat, while Harald Østberg Amundsen placed fourth. Matz William Jenssen rounded out the top five, with American Ben Ogden finishing last in the final.

In another dramatic moment, Håvard Solås Taugbøl faced disappointment when he fell during the quarter-finals, resulting in him feeling that his World Championship hopes were hanging by a thread.
