Therese Johaug's success – wins Tour de Ski

Therese Johaug was not originally set to compete in the Tour de Ski. However, she changed her mind and ultimately claimed victory in the tour in dominant fashion. "I'm very pleased that I decided to participate," Johaug told SVT Sport.

Tour de Ski was not part of Johaug's initial comeback plans as she aimed to compete sparsely in preparation for a major goal: the World Championship on home ground. However, things took a different turn.

Johaug's victory marks a historic moment, as the 36-year-old has now won the Tour de Ski four times, equaling the record held by Justyna Kowalczyk, who has also secured four titles in this event.

When reflecting on her changes in decision, Johaug humorously mentioned, "If I had said six months ago that you'd be standing here as the Tour de Ski winner again, I wouldn't have believed you."

The tour concluded with the climactic finish up the Alpe Cermis slope, where Johaug showcased her exceptional talent, winning the final stage decisively to secure the overall title with a significant margin.

Ebba Andersson ranked as the top Swedish competitor, finishing in fifth place overall.

Behind Johaug in the total standings were Astrid Öyre Slind from Norway in second place and Jessie Diggins from the USA in third.
