Johaug plans to retire after the World Championships in Trondheim, but her husband is uncertain about that.

Johaug stated, "I love what I'm doing. I gain a lot of energy from it, but it's over after the World Championships."

Hoff's worries: Hoff expressed a playful fear about Johaug not sticking to her retirement plans, especially as the Olympic Games in Italy are approaching in 2026.

"I think it’s important we make solid logistical plans concerning our family life if she decides to pursue Olympic aspirations as well. But you never know," said Hoff, reflecting on the unpredictability of Johaug's commitments.

Regardless of her long-term path, Johaug demonstrated her top form during the season opener at Beitostølen, winning the 10-kilometer race decisively ahead of her competitors.
