Norwegian cross-country skiing superstar Therese Johaug, now 36, has firmly declared that she will not be participating in the Olympic Games scheduled to take place in Italy in 2026. Johaug recently made her comeback to competitive skiing this season, with her sights set on the World Championships in Trondheim.

"Only Trondheim, then I am ready," she told the Swedish broadcaster SVT.

She has assured fans and followers that her decision is resolute. When a journalist questioned her about the possibility of competing if she were to win all of her races this season, Johaug confirmed, "Yes. I will not participate in the Olympics."

Johaug stepped away from professional sports after the Beijing Olympics in Spring 2022, shortly after becoming a mother in May of the previous year. Last season, she participated in the Norwegian championships for the 30-kilometer event, where she claimed a decisive victory.

Throughout her illustrious career, Johaug has earned three individual Olympic gold medals and an impressive ten world championship titles. Additionally, she has triumphed in the World Cup with an astonishing 82 race victories.
