Therese Johaug, who returned to competitive racing last season after a two-year break, expressed that she needs more time to make a definitive decision about her future in the sport. At 36 years old, Johaug was eager to compete for a world title at the Trondheim World Championships, but she fell short of that goal.

In a statement, Johaug voiced her exhaustion following a long and eventful season and emphasized that she is not ready to make a decision about her career at this moment. "I have requested additional time to make a final decision," she mentioned through the Norwegian Ski Federation's announcement.

It is crucial for Johaug to have enough energy to make an informed decision. If she opts to continue her career, she wants to ensure she is completely ready for the upcoming season.

The Norwegian national team management, led by GM Cathrine Instebø, has shown understanding for Johaug's deliberation, stating that they will give her as much time as she needs without any pressure. Instebø added, "Of course, we hope she continues, but that decision must be made entirely on her own."

The Norwegian Ski Federation confirmed that Therese Johaug will be selected for the national team but noted that there is no deadline for her to make a decision.
