Therese Johaug's situation drew significant media interest during the Salpausselkä competitions in Lahti this Saturday. She left a small one percent chance for the continuation of her career.

Johaug's arrival was delayed by half an hour, but she finally appeared before the media at the Norwegian support trailer.

Speaking with enthusiasm about the upcoming 50 km race, Johaug stated, "I'm looking forward to the 50 km race. The conditions are fantastic here. Blue skies. A perfect track. It's going to be tough, but a fun race."

After her disappointing performance in the 50 km race in Trondheim, the media questioned Johaug how much those results would affect her decision about her career continuation.

"After that 50 km, I felt that I couldn't show my best, because the conditions were so bad. The results might have been the same under different circumstances, but I feel I couldn't display my full capacity," Johaug explained.

Johaug's partner, Nils Jakob Hoff, hinted during the World Championships that he would like her to continue competing towards the next year's Olympics. Johaug revealed that Hoff has encouraged her, saying, "Do what you love to do; there's still ten months left. Maybe he wants to take part in the Cortina trip himself," she joked about the Olympics in Northern Italy.
