Kristine Stavås Skistad made a good prologue in the world cup sprint at Lillehammer, but was unable to make a dream comeback, being eliminated in the quarter-finals. Following her performance, she quickly left the Birkerbeineren Skistadion without responding to media inquiries, stating briefly to NRK, "No, I'm just going home to train."

In her quarter-final heat, she finished third behind Jonna Sundling from Sweden and Victoria Carl from Germany. Her time was not sufficient to progress, marking a brief return to the World Cup. Later, Skistad was disqualified for obstruction, placing her last in her heat.

Viaplay expert Johan Olsson criticized Skistad's decision to avoid the press after the setback. "It's not professional. You have to handle disappointment and face the media to explain what went wrong, and take the disappointment home with you. It's a clear sign of frustration and disappointment," he commented, as reported by the Swedish newspaper Expressen.

Skistad will not participate in the Davos sprint next weekend, as her coach, Lage Sofienlund, emphasizes the need for her to see how she responds after recent training sessions. He believes she needs some competitive training going forward but in manageable portions.

Another athlete, Tiril Udnes Weng, also had a tough day at Lillehammer, finishing 15.8 seconds behind prologue winner Jonna Sundling, ending up in 35th place. Weng, a former overall World Cup winner, expressed her disappointment, stating, "This was dark. My feeling before the start was bad, but I tried to think positively. Prologs are usually my strength, but I was bad today."

After her run, she reflected, "It was the worst prologue of my life. It’s a disappointment, but we will work through it."
