Originally published in Sveriges Radio on January 31, 2025
Sveriges Radio reports on the recent sprint relay event in cross-country skiing held in Cogne, Italy. It was a long time since length-skier Calle Halfvarsson last stood on the World Cup podium – his previous appearance was in December 2023 when the Swedish men's team finished second in a relay event in Gällivare.
In Friday’s sprint relay in Cogne, Halfvarsson teamed up with Oskar Svensson to secure third place for Sweden. They finished behind the winning Norwegian team and the runners-up from France. This performance marks an important milestone for Halfvarsson, who showcased his top form in a highly competitive field.
The achievement is celebrated by the Swedish team and underscores the country’s strength in cross-country skiing events.
