In a disappointing turn of events for Swedish skiing, Johanna Hagström, who recently achieved significant success in sprints, has been sidelined by illness ahead of the sprint competition in Davos. The 26-year-old athlete woke up with cold symptoms and has opted out of the individual sprint scheduled for Saturday.

Skidlandslaget confirmed her condition and stated, "Johanna has woken up with symptoms of a cold and will therefore not participate in today's sprint in Davos."

As a result, Sweden will enter the competition with four other female skiers: Jonna Sundling, Emma Ribom, Ingrid Hallquist, and Ebba Stenman. Hagström had previously won in Ruka and claimed second place in Lillehammer, making her absence particularly noteworthy for the team.

The Swedish ski team will now rely on the remaining athletes to perform well in her stead during the competitive season ahead.
