The strength ran out for Kristine Stavås Skistad as she was knocked out in the quarter-finals at Lillehammer. This marked a disappointing moment for the athlete who had high hopes for the event.

After the race, Stavås Skistad chose not to speak to the press immediately, opting instead to retreat to a nearby building to gather her thoughts. She later emerged briefly to comment, stating simply, "I need to go home and train."

Her coach, Lage Sofienlund, took the opportunity to make a bold prediction, claiming: "You will never see her perform this poorly again."

Sundling, who dominated the race from start to finish, left other competitors in her wake. Stavås Skistad's early exit drew considerable attention, especially in contrast to Sundling's strong performance.

The men's race saw Norwegian athletes Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, Matz William Jenssen, Even Northug, and Alexander Elde Holmboe all advance to the final, with Klæbo showcasing his usual dominance.

As the competitions continue, Stavås Skistad intends to focus on training rather than participating in the upcoming races.
