CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING

• The weekend marks the beginning of the cross-country skiing World Cup in Ruka, Finland, with the Swedish national team being announced by team manager Anders Byström on Tuesday.

• Among the selected athletes is star skier Frida Karlsson, who has recently dealt with injuries and sickness at the start of the season.

• However, she is now cleared to participate in the World Cup premiere, which eases concerns for the team manager.
