Johannes Høsflot Klæbo was dominant in the sprint, overcoming previous disappointments to secure a much-awaited individual gold medal in 20 kilometers at the World Championships.

In a thrilling race, Klæbo sped past his competitors to cross the finish line first in front of a home crowd in Granåsen. This victory marks his first individual distance title after being disqualified in 2021 and narrowly missing out on victory last year.

Behind him, the competition was fierce, culminating in a nail-biting finish as three other Norwegian skiers battled closely for medals. Martin Løwstrøm Nyenget claimed silver, while Harald Østberg Amundsen took bronze, despite suffering an injury during the race. "It has been a long time coming for me, and this gold means more than anything after the previous close calls," said Klæbo, visibly emotional as he reflected on the significance of this victory on home soil.
