Kristin Austgulen Fosnæs (24) experienced a brutal debut as Norway's anchor woman. It was touching to see the reaction of her teammates as they embraced her after the race.

For it ended in "only" silver, despite Fosnæs starting her leg with a 37-second lead.

In the finish area, she was quickly embraced by her teammates, and it didn't take long before a smile returned to the debuting athlete's face.

– I had envisioned most scenarios. The focus was to run my race at the start, but I was visibly shocked by how fast she came. I had all opportunities on the final leg, but it didn't fully work out, said Fosnæs to NRK after the silver.

Heidi Weng, Astrid Øyre Slind, Therese Johaug and Kristin Austgulen Fosnæs won silver in the 4x7.5 km relay at the World Championships in Granåsen.

Teammates Encouragement: Despite the close call, they delivered a stellar performance, according to their coaches and teammates.

The 24-year-old admitted that the pressure was immense. She described it as the biggest task of her life, acknowledging how the anticipation had affected her. She expressed gratitude for the emotional support from her teammates, as they offered kind words and celebrated their teamwork, even in the face of the nerves.

– What does it mean to you when your teammates smile and welcome you? asks NRK.

– It means everything. I'm so thankful for that, replied Austgulen Fosnæs, visibly moved.

– What will you take from this experience? asked the reporter.

– I hope to improve my skiing and see where this takes me.
