Ski-VM in Trondheim: Klæbo led Norway to gold in men's relay

Norway's relay team lived up to expectations, winning the gold medal at the World Ski Championships in Trondheim. Martin Løwstrøm Nyenget, competing in his first championship relay, made significant strides to ensure Norway's lead early on, navigating anxiously through the track.

The tension mounted as NRK expert Martin Johnsrud Sundby expressed concerns about the risks of navigating outside the defined tracks. Despite the pressure, the Norwegian team, including Nyenget and star athlete Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, pushed through to claim the title.

"This day will stay in my memory forever; I want to soak in every moment of this gold medal experience," stated Klæbo, who achieved his 14th World Championship gold.

The silver medal was taken by Switzerland, while Sweden claimed bronze. Norway continues its legacy, having won 17 of the last 18 men’s relays, affirming their status as a powerhouse in the sport.

Tension Before the Race

Nervousness was palpable among the Norwegian athletes leading up to the race. "Even Johannes felt the tension during warm-ups, discussing our need to be sharp for the challenge ahead," remarked Harald Østberg Amundsen afterward.

The race was influenced by unfortunate falls from competitors, further solidifying Norway's secure lead. Fans celebrated as the team crossed the finish line, marking another legendary chapter in the country’s skiing accomplishments.

"This victory is just as thrilling as ever, but this time it’s special because of the full stadium in Trondheim," said head coach Eirik Myhr Nossum, emphasizing the emotional weight of victory on home turf.
