Ski Icon Likely Retires: "I Feel That It's Over"
Therese Johaug has signaled what could be the end of her illustrious skiing career following the home World Cup event at the legendary Holmenkollen in Oslo. In an interview with NRK, she conveyed a strong feeling of finality, stating, "I feel that it's over."
The 14-time world champion emphasized the extremely low likelihood of her continuing beyond this season, citing that there is only a 10% chance she will resume competition. Johaug recently celebrated her 88th World Cup victory but finished fifth in her latest race, leaving her with a sense of unfulfilled potential from that day.
"It takes a lot for me to consider starting a new season. I might just finish with the Holmenkollen event," Johaug stated, reflecting on her journey in the sport.
