The lack of snow and mild weather leading up to the Ski Championships in Kalix is causing challenges. However, organizers are maintaining a positive outlook.
When SVT visits the competition area on Tuesday, the sun is shining with temperatures reaching nine degrees. While this may seem pleasant, it poses a significant challenge with the championships beginning Thursday, amidst a mild winter with relatively little snow.
Positive Outlook Amid Challenges
Despite the slush and melting snow, spirits are high at the Kalix ski stadium.
"We have adjusted the courses a bit but we are confident in the tracks we will offer," says track manager Mikael Larsson.
In the clip, Lennart Larsson, one of the event's coordinators, also discusses preparations and hopes for the Ski Championships.
