Not to be outdone was former Tour-de-Ski champion Harald Östberg Amundsen, who led a spectacular Norwegian triple victory. In the race held in Cogne, Italy, the 10-kilometer time trial saw Janosch Brugger, a scion of the DSV team, show ascending form with his best performance in more than two years. With a time of 22:12.3 minutes, Brugger even took the lead on his way to a seventh-place finish – a mark he had previously reached in December 2022 when racing in classical style. Other notable competitors included Jan Stölben, who finished 19th, and Florian Notz in 25th place. Meanwhile, Friedrich Moch, after his podium finish on January 5 during the final stage of the Tour de Ski, had opted out of the Cogne race as he focused on preparations for the upcoming World Championships in Trondheim.
This strong performance by Brugger provides a dose of optimism for the upcoming World Championships, reinforcing DSV’s competitive credentials on the international stage.
